How We Got Started

The Pink Foundation grew out of work with orphans that later blossomed into full blown community development. While trying to improve conditions for the most disadvantaged children, we noticed that there were many more families who needed help. So in 2010 we approached the municipal government in Tran, Bulgaria, and asked if we might have their blessing to offer help to some of the most needy families in town. The mayor said yes, and over the next several years we developed a comprehensive catalog of after school activities designed to teach skills and encourage children to strive for better life outcomes.

A Word From Our Founder

I never imagined myself a professional advocate for children. As a businessman, my typical participation in social work was financial, giving to causes I believed in when I heard about people in need. Then I moved to Bulgaria, and discovered a whole new world of opportunities to lend a helping hand.

My first project was raising funds to buy beds and mattresses for orphans. They lived in miserable conditions, and even though we could not change their family status, we could make life a little bit more comfortable. Visiting them after the new furnishings were delivered, I realized the impact of warm, sturdy beds in the lives of those children far outweighed the inconvenience of asking for a few donations from friends. More importantly, it started me on the road of helping children get the support they need to achieve a happy, healthy and successful life.

Today, the Pink Foundation supports families and communities through neighborhood gatherings, educational assistance, after school clubs, vocational training, and summer camps. Whether it is a big idea like InnovAid, our hospital volunteer program for teenagers, or something as simple as helping a child find a warm bed to lay their head, our staff and volunteers work tirelessly to improve the life trajectory of every child we meet.

Our Locations

Pink Bulgaria

Pink Bulgaria operates in four cities: Tran, Peshtera, Breznik and Sofia, providing after school activities, special events, and summer programs through our partnerships with local governments, schools, and other institutions around town.

Pink Nigeria

Pink Nigeria offers the Pink Program in five locations in and around Aba, Abia State. They are currently developing their first Pink House as a center of operations for serving rural children from multiple communities.
